Chainels opens an office at The Stack, Amsterdam's new AI hub

Amsterdam, September 2026. Chainels has opened an office at The Stack, Amsterdam's new AI hub. The Stack officially opened this month, and Chainels is one of the first members moving into its floors. The office sits alongside our headquarters in Rotterdam.

Why we chose The Stack

Chainels has built software for real estate since 2011. Over those 15 years we learned that the value of any new technology in a building depends on how well it connects to the systems a property team already runs. AI raises the stakes on that lesson, because an AI assistant can only act on a building whose systems are connected.

We think real estate should have a voice in how AI gets built, from the start. The people building AI in Europe right now are setting its direction, and The Stack puts us at the root of that growth. What we bring to the table is 15 years of knowledge about how buildings are run and what tenants expect from them.

We also came to learn. Working next to other AI founders and engineers means shorter feedback loops and honest conversations about what works in practice. What we pick up there goes straight into our product decisions.

The Stack is a curated community for AI-native builders, engineers, researchers and founders at Jacob Bontiusplaats 9 in Amsterdam Oostenburg. It opens in phases through 2026 and 2027, starting at 4,500 m² and growing to 12,000 m² by 2029, with room for more than 200 founders. The Stack was founded by Lennard Zwart, Maarten Stolk and Philip Gast together with Techleap, and is led by Founding Director Esther Bisschop.
