Utopi and Chainels Integration: Putting Energy Data in the Hands of Residents
Residents make energy decisions every day, but rarely see how those choices affect consumption. Property operators face the opposite challenge: they can track overall building performance, but often lack a clear view of what is happening at the level of individual homes.
Utopi and Chainels have partnered to bridge that gap. Through Utopi’s Open API, granular, room-level performance data flows into Chainels, giving operators a clearer view of energy use across their assets while helping residents understand their own consumption.
Chainels’ utilities module presents this data as simple, easy-to-read graphs inside the same app residents already use for parcels, maintenance requests, and community updates. That makes energy information easier to understand and act on, without introducing another platform or changing existing workflows.
For operators, the integration reduces the need to reconcile information across separate systems and makes it easier to identify where energy is being used efficiently and where improvements may be possible. The integration has been designed with data protection, data accuracy, and a clear resident experience at its core.
The first deployment is planned for a client site in London this September. It marks a step towards making granular, real-time building data a standard part of the resident experience—and putting useful insights in the hands of the people whose daily choices shape energy performance.
